For my character I wanted to create an alien, but instead of the ugly, nasty ones that are commonly seen, I wanted to create a character similar to the styles of these artists. 

I want my character to have the same soft, illuminated essence that these characters do, however I still want the traditional image of an alien to still be portrayed. 

Here's my sketch. I tried to stray away from the references by not making it look too human-like. I also tried to make my character simple so that it might be easier to create in a vector/raster program.

I love how the piece is just suspended in the air in normal cityscapes (must mean it's durable) and how it's meant to react and move with wind, sunlight, and water. I imagine its movement makes the piece look as if it were alive.
